INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS
Let’s consider two important international publications on the cognitive approach to patient care, covering both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Department of Health and Human Services, USA, in its publication Patient Education and Engagement (2024), states:
“Healthcare works best when patients understand their conditions and choices and are actively engaged in their care. This page contains resources for health professionals and for patients to improve written and spoken communication and increase patient participation in healthcare decisions.”
